Library of Things

A Library of Things is becoming increasingly popular at libraries throughout the state and across the country. Even worldwide. Collections often include things like tools, electronics, crafting supplies, games and more. It’s especially helpful for users who only need an item once or twice a year, but don’t want to pay for it. For instance, if you are having an outside event and would like a pop-up canopy tent, we have that!! The Pembroke Town Library is working in conjunction with the Chesley Memorial Library in Northwood, Epsom Public Library, and the Josiah Carpenter Library in Pittsfield to make this possible, and so you can check out ‘Library of Things’ items at these lending libraries as well.

What you need to know:

  • You will be required to sign a lending agreement
  • Lending is on a first serve basis
  • Items may be borrowed for two weeks
  • You can use your library card to check out “things” from the other three libraries
  • If you are borrowing an item from another library, it is your responsibility to pick-up and return the item to that location
  • Items can be reserved ahead of time

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the New Hampshire State Library
